Each day students practice reading words short vowel words and then complete a brief reinforcement activity. The tasks are similar from week to week so students will be familiar with the expectations. Using these nonsense words is a great way to help young children learn to segment and blend CVC words before they begin blending larger words! This will in turn help them better understand how to read real words and become fluent readers.

The 6 different levels allow you to differentiate based on students’ needs. This is a great companion resource to our Kindergarten Fluency Homework. You may have students who need more than a few weeks of Segmenting and Blending Fluency practice, and this set is perfect for them.
