#1 Dinosaur Christmas by Jerry Pallotta W
Have you ever wondered how Santa delivered all the presents before the reindeer? Dinosaurs of course!
#2 How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas? by Jane Yolen W
A festive installment in the great “How do Dinosaurs?” series. There’s also a Hannukah version.
#3 Dear Santasaurus by Stacy McAnulty WWW
This is a new book for 2013. In a series of monthly letters, we follow Ernest as he tries to explain to Santa why he should stay off the Naughty List.
#4 Dinosaur Vs. Santa by Bob Shea W
Fresh off from dueling bedtime, the library, and the potty, Dinosaur is ready to take on Christmas. Not a whole lot of plot in this, but if you have any people in your life between the ages 2 and 8, they’ll get a HUGE kick out of this book. Getting to “Roar!” on every page is just a bonus!
#5 The Dinosaurs’ Night Before Christmas by Anne Muecke WW
This is one of my favorite Christmas reads. Nathan Hale’s illustrations are full of dino-whimsy. It’s Christmas Eve and a little boy dino lover, who happens to live across the street from the Natural History Museum, parties with the dinosaurs who come back to life with the Christmas Eve magic.
Honorable Mention
Tyrannoclaus by Janet Lawler WW
Tyrannoclaus is ready for his Christmas Eve rounds when the local volcano erupts. The rhyming text can make the story line a bit difficult to follow, but if you have a dino lover in your life, they’ll overlook any faults.
