Get 24 weeks of homework, practice, or intervention to improve preschool, kindergarten and first grade students’ letter name fluency! These letter fluency sheets will help your students learn letters of the alphabet in an engaging and repetitive way. This program is perfect to support RTI or students working on DIBELS Letter Naming Fluency.

Instead of just drill practice, these alphabet letters assignments actually teach letter name recognition. The letter recognition assessments included are a great way to check your students level and then differentiate based on needs. Your students will then practice saying their uppercase letters each day or night and then complete a brief reinforcement activity.

What does Level A letter name fluency look like?

  • 24 weeks
  • 1-2 new capital letter every week
  • Practice 3 letters a week in 4 different activities
  • 1 new letter a week (and 2 familiar letters repeated)
  • Practice each letter for 3 weeks
  • Progresses slowly for students who need a lot of practice with letter names

These alphabet fluency activities are PERFECT for students who can name 15 or fewer capital letters. They can be used for letter recognition interventions, small groups or as homework. Simply, print the pages you need for the week and copy them back-to-back. Students work on one page per week.

These letter recognition assessments and interventions are super simple to use!

✅ Day 1 – students identify a list of 9 letters (new letter of the week and familiar letters). Then they practice writing the new letter.

✅ Day 2 – students identify a list of 9 letters (new letter of the week and familiar letters). Then they circle all examples of a certain letter.

✅ Day 3 – students identify a list of 9 letters (new letter of the week and familiar letters). Then they trace a path of a certain letter through a maze. Students love this one!

✅ Day 4 – students identify a list of 9 letters (new letter of the week and familiar letters). Then they practice tracing 3 letters and choosing the picture that begins with each sound.

These letter recognition interventions and assignments are set up to make this run as smoothly as possible for grown up helpers. Each page is divided into 4 sections and labeled Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4. There are also weekly tips to give families ideas of how to support their student at home.

Each week of letter fluency practice sheets contains:

✅ 2 pages (copy double-sided)

✅ 4 days of practice

✅ Parent Tips

✅ A picture code for quick reference

❤️You will LOVE how these alphabet letters sheets help skyrocket students progress. Students practice reading the letter name assignment for the day and then complete a quick and simple activity to help strengthen skills.
