Pictivities Review

Pictivities

We were recently contacted by Meg and Corbin Frost about their new children's activity book series Pictivities. After watching the video for their Kickstarter campaign I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy.

Pictivities Review

This book is right up Adelaide's alley. It's silly and funny and interactive. She thought blowing on our fingers after tapping the candle was hilarious! She also loves the little spider crawling on her arm. And she enjoyed doing the actions right back to me.

Pictivities Review

I recently made a rule for myself that if Adelaide asks to read a book that I will stop whatever I'm doing and read it to her. It only takes a few minutes and it's so important to connect with her throughout the day while at the same time fostering her love of reading. Pictivities is a perfect book for those moments because it helps us connect and laugh together while enjoying a book.

The Naitonal Institute for Children's Health and Development says that it takes 1000 hours of lap-time for young children to have the readiness skills in place to learn to read. Taking a moment to stop and read with your child several times a day will set them up for future success.

Pictivities needs your help. They need to fund their Kickstarter project by September 4, 2014 in order to finance the first run of their first Pictivities book. See their Kickstarter here and pledge today! I can't wait to see what other Pictivities books will be released in the future!

Note: I was given a "dummy" copy of the book to review. I was not otherwise compensated for this post. All opinions, as always, are my own.
