To the Point

Last summer, some teachers were telling me about this amazing pencil sharpener.  It was quiet, sturdy, got pencils perfectly sharp without chewing them down.  I was skeptical.  There couldn’t be anything that good and the $25 price tag was too much for me to risk.

And then Christmas came.  And my awesome principal got one for each classroom.  And all I can say is WOW!

You’ve got to have pencils, but what a pain in the neck!!!  I’ve tried everything: standard bolted to the wall crank models, hand-held mini sharpeners, a variety of electric sharpeners.  Nothing had the perfect blend of effective, easy, and quiet.

Until now.

Pencilsharpener

The Classroom Friendly sharpener is a very bright spot in years of pencil frustration.  (I imagine non-teachers reading this are thinking I’m being dramatic, but teachers, you get it!)  The first day we used it, I stood in front of my pencil can and just relished the moment.  Who knew you could get such joy from looking at 30 perfectly sharpened pencils?

I have 2 kids assigned to collect and sharpen pencils at the end of the day.  They can get the entire class’s pencils taken care of in about 10 minutes.  Frequently the pencils are still sharp enough from the day before that they don’t need any sharpening at all.  It never chews the ends the way my old sharpener did.  You know when it gets almost finished, you give it a couple last turns, and the end breaks off and you have to start again!  GRRRRR!!!  But that’s a thing of the past!

I love this guy.  I give it a little pat on the head every time I walk by it.  🙂  And then I kick myself for not just buying one months ago!

(I was not compensated for this post- but we recently added an affiliate link, meaning a very small percentage of any purchase goes back to us! But I’ve had this post up a long time because I just really, really like this product!  If I were Oprah I’d give you all one!)
