Brain Breaks for Thanksgiving (Freebie!)

Free Thanksgiving Brain Breaks

We’re back with some Thanksgiving themed brain breaks that we think your class will love. Oh and just like last month, they’re FREE!

We created three types of brain breaks:

  1. Recharge – these brain breaks are for movement. Use these when you need kids to get the wiggles out! They’re likely to elicit lots of giggles.
  2. Refocus – these are brain breaks that involve concentration like meditation and controlled movement.
  3. Refresh – these brain breaks will engage your students’ minds in fun activities that will make them smile.

Like our other brain breaks, these can be used without technology. Sometimes it’s just too much hassle to get that projector out or maybe your classroom doesn’t have the needed tech. These are print, grab, and go. We also try to make sure our activities include as much student participation as possible and very little waiting around for a turn.

Here’s a tip for storing your brain breaks: punch a hole in the corner, put on a metal ring, and hang on a command hook inside your cupboard door. I always make the hole in the first card and then line up the cards and punch through the existing hole to the new card. Then the hole should end up in the same spot on each card.

We have a Pinterest board with lots of ideas for brain breaks, some need technology and some don’t.
